Factors influencing the simultaneous adoption of risk management instruments in Mediterranean irrigated agriculture

Agriculture is highly impacted by different sources of risk. There a wide variety management instruments that farmers can use to cover these risks. The objective this article analyze the explanatory variables for simultaneous adoption large set risk instruments. main innovation methodological approach: first, we apply hierarchical cluster analysis identify groups whose correlated; second, multivariate probit (MVP) models influence factors on included in each cluster. capture farmers’ socio-demographic features, aversion and subjective perception past experience; farms’ technical-economic characteristics; local-level climate change. results reveal significant differences influencing findings support farmers, service providers, policymakers.
